Duties Performed:

  • Conducted the physical asset verification exercise and gathered complete information on all assets in the UNDP premises

  • Ensured that all assets in the ISR are physically located on the floor and checked the accuracy of assets’ serial numbers, tag number, description and physical location

  • Ensured that all physically located assets were recorded in the ISR.

  • Used the Asset Discrepancy Sheet to take note of all assets that were recorded in ISR but not physically verified

  • Ensured that all physically located assets were assesed for impairment

  • Reconciliation of the ISR against physical verification results and consolidated the results

  • Assisted in the Compilation of asset-add-on submissions to GSSC for physically verified assets that did not appear in the ISR

  • Conducted a reconciliation exercise of Property, Plant and Equipment recorded in line with established policies and procedures in Atlas Asset Management In- Service Report and physically verified.

  • Ensured that all assets had the correct status in AM paying particular attention to assets with the status ‘Received- Not in Service’.

  • Assisted in the preparation  the December 2015 asset certification letter.

My core responsibilities in this section involved the preparation of daily, weekly, mid-monthly, monthly, quarterly, half yearly and year end revenue reports.

In addition to these responsibilities, was also responsible for investigating mis-posted transactions and clearing of open items in the general ledger using the SAP Accounting package.

During my time in this role, I have managed to reduce the time of preparing management reports and improving the accuracy of those reports through the extensive use of SAP accounting package.

My duties in this section involved the following core responsibilities:

  • Preparation of expenditure reports

  • Processing ofTravelling and Subsistence expenses

  • Making payments to suppliers

  • Processing of monthly bank reconciliation statements

 iii) The Cash Office Section (August 2013- August 2014)

 

The roles that I assumed in this section involved ensuring the highest level of integrity and honesty in the management of day to day cash collected. This involved reconciliations of cash collected with supporting documents to ensure that all cash collected was very accurate. I was also responsible for manual posting of failed online transactions in their respective ledgers and banking of cash collected. In addition, I was responsible for filing all important documents such as receipts, RTGS forms and invoices in the cash office section.
